The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all of the chairperson and councillor seats in Osun State’s 30 local government areas (LGAs).
Hashim Abioye, the Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), revealed the results in Osogbo, the state capital, on Saturday.
He stated that the election was successfully completed in accordance with constitutional requirements, existing rules, regulations, and guidelines.
He stated that the election was held to fill existing vacancies in 332 wards and 30 LGAs across the state, with 18 political parties participating.
In Delta, a pastor was shot and six congregants were kidnapped, while a road disaster in Niger claimed the lives of 12 people.
According to him, “Based on the available results from the field, the Peoples Democratic Party candidates in the 332 wards emerged as winners.” Their names were listed, and as the Commission’s check returning officer, I returned them as elected councillors in their respective Wards.
“The results are available at any time for anyone interested in Certified True Copies. The Peoples Democratic Party’s nominees won all 30 local government seats in Osun State.
“To this effect, by the power conferred on me, as the Chief Returning Officer of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, I hereby declared the following persons as the duly elected chairmen of their respective areas.”
