Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has announced that corps members will get a new monthly allowance of N77,000 beginning in February 2025.
Ahmed stated on Thursday, while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina, that the increase has been included in the Federal Government’s 2025 budget.
“This month (January) is already over, but once the budget is approved. By next month (February), you will be collecting N77,000 instead of the normal N33,000,” he said.
He emphasized that the Federal Government approved the additional allowance and encouraged corps members to show their thanks by working hard during their service year.
Ahmed reaffirmed his commitment to their well-being and security, assuring corps members that they would not be assigned to places under threat.
“We will not send our corps members to areas where we face security issues. “Wherever we send them, they should have less confidence that the location is safe and secure for them to serve,” he said.
