Ned Nwoko Dumps PDP, Gives Reasons

Senator Ned Nwoko of Delta North has announced his decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Nwoko has been with the PDP since it was founded in 1999.

In a resignation letter to the party leadership in Ward 8, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, dated January 30 and sighted on Friday, the senator expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s current state, citing deep divisions and irreconcilable factions as the main reasons for his departure.

He wrote:

“My decision to retire stems mostly from the party’s severe splits and factionalisation. This disintegration has made it increasingly difficult to promote unity and achieve our people’s joint interests.”

“Just this week, precisely on the 29th of January, the top party functionaries degenerated to the lowest levels by physically fighting themselves arising from the stated factions, which have become irreconcilable.”
