Max Air Plane Crashes on Landing, Tire Blows Out

A Max Air flight with registration number 5N-MBD, B733, barely escaped disaster on Tuesday night as it crash-landed at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) following a burst front tire.
The plane was coming from Lagos and had 53 passengers and six staff members on board when the incident happened at about 10:19 p.m.

One of the guests, Aliyu Inuwa Mansir, shared that…

The front tire caught fire when we landed, and smoke filled the house. We had to leave fast through the escape exit. Mansir said, “Firefighters were already putting out the flames when we came out.”

Malam Bello Ramalan, the station manager for Max Air in Kano, reported that everyone on board was safely evacuated.

He said that the airline is working with the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Aircraft and Equipment Department (AED) to find out what caused the event.
