JAMB postpones 2025 UTME registration

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has moved the registration deadline for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to Monday, February 3, 2025, from the previous date of Friday, January 31, 2025.

The postponement of the registration start date was announced in a statement issued on Friday and uploaded on JAMB’s official X page.

According to the statement, the development was necessary to enable the Board to make critical changes to its registration templates.

The statement reads:

“The Council for Legal Education informed the Board of the recent suspension of certain law programs at selected colleges, prompting these changes.

“In addition, the Board revealed that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres had utilized dishonest techniques to get clearance, necessitating further investigation and condemnation of such centers.

“This update is important to enable the Board to make critical changes to its registration templates. These changes are in response to the recent suspension of some law curricula at certain universities, as reported to the Board by the Council for Legal Education. Furthermore, the Board revealed that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers had used false facilities to obtain approval, necessitating further investigation and rectification by disapproving such centers.

“The Board understands the interruption this may cause for candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience.

“The additional time will be used to ensure that all necessary changes are made for a smooth registration process.”
