Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr’s striker, has said that Real Madrid must “look after” Kylian Mbappé.
Ronaldo also instructed Mbappe to “do things his way” as he seeks to mimic him at the Bernabéu.
Mbappé has already scored 22 goals in all competitions in his rookie season at Madrid.
However, the Frenchman faced criticism for his early-season efforts.
Ronaldo, Madrid’s all-time top scorer with 451 goals, was Mbappé’s childhood idol.
The 39-year-old notably posed for a photo with Mbappé during his first trial at the club as a teenager.
“Look after the lad,” Ronaldo remarked during an interview with Spanish television show El Chiringuito.
“The fans should look after him. He’s really good. The club must help to protect him; I am confident he will bring great joy to Madrid fans.
“I love [Mbappé], not just because of his story as a kid, how he loved Cristiano, I was his idol,” he remarked. “I think he’s a top player.”
