An early morning accident kills two

An early morning road accident occurred at 6 a.m. on Friday in Awka, Anambra State’s capital, killing two people, identified as a driver and a loader.

He said:

“Apart from the two dead lying here, some individuals were injured and transferred to the hospital.

“The men who are now laying dead were conversing and joking with us shortly after our morning prayers.

“Last night, we were all here to hold candle session for one of our drivers who died, and now this has happened.”

He added: “The driver and his girlfriend were retrieved unharmed; the lad claims the collision was caused by brake failure, but we know this is false.

“There is no evidence that he attempted to brake or that he was wrestling with the vehicle.

“We assume the teenager and his girlfriend were returning from the club. It’s possible that he lost control while talking to the girl, or that he was inebriated or tired. “You know how all these Yahoo boys behave.”

writer who was on the site of the incident reported that it needed the intervention of park owners and police to keep the young motorist and his girlfriend from being lynched.

Friends of the deceased, enraged by the negligent nature of the accident, attacked the driver, resulting in their being protected and held up in a room until police arrived and whisked them away.
