APC kicks Aregbesola out of the ruling party

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has removed Rauf Aregbesola, former Minister of Interior, for suspected anti-party conduct.
A letter from the APC leadership, obtained by journalists on Wednesday, officially confirmed Aregbesola’s removal.

The former Osun state governor led a faction inside the APC known as The Osun Progressives, which was later renamed the Omoluabi Caucus.

The letter accused him of violating Article 21 of the party’s constitution, which establishes disciplinary procedures for members.

The letter stated in part:

“After the investigation concluded, the State Executive Committee (SEC) reviewed the Disciplinary Committee’s report. After carefully reviewing the findings and recommendations, the SEC decided to approve your immediate expulsion from the APC.

The decision was based on convincing evidence that your activities harmed the party’s unity and integrity. As a result, you are no longer a member of the APC and must desist from representing the party in any way.
